Underpinning the very objective of its project, “Education for all”, Prayas Nepal, through its incessant support, has assisted students, particularly those Preparing for SEE examinations, in their lessons and learning
In rural areas, specific challenges impede schools from attaining both equity and equality in education, essential for providing every student with the opportunities they deserve. Additionally, there have been reported instances of students taking their own lives due to a profound sense of hopelessness, largely attributed to the limited or non-existent access to essential educational support services. Another critical issue is the elevated student dropout rates, exacerbated by recurrent lockdowns and school closures that significantly disrupt students’ academic progress. Considering the potential issues, virtual learning, through “Education for All” was initiated in 2074 B.S. (2017 A.D.) to mark the correct use of technology within learning as an agent for empowering learning as well as to address educational inequities.
To address the problems associated with the rural digital divide, the facilitation of online classes through “Education for All’’ for the students of 7 different schools; namely: Shree Sindhupurana Secondary School, Sindupalchowk, Shree Setidevi Secondary School, Ramechhap, Shree Sunkhani Secondary School, Dhading, Shree Kewalpur Harihar Bhojkumari Secondary School, Dhading, Shree Bhimsensthan Secondary School, Okhaldhunga, Shree Sarada Secondary School, Shree Janajagaran Secondary School has been inititaed.
Having known the positive outcomes of the virtual classes, online classes were also provided for the students of grades 8 and 9 in all three schools from the year 2076 B.S. (2019 A.D.). The students were provided lessons by a group of experienced tutors for the respective subjects through a hub via live broadcast. The organization not only bore the responsibility of providing virtual classes but also managed the Internet and other technicalities.
