Every year, the residents of the rural parts of the country experience the severe impact of natural calamities such as floods. To address the issues of displaced people and provide immediate support for the victims of a natural calamity as severe as a flood, this program was conducted. Prayas Nepal took the initiative to support those in misery by reconstructing 42 houses that were damaged by a flood in Dhanusa District. This programme provided aid to the economically and socially deprived members of the Musahar community. The summer floods of July 2007 severely affected some 69,580 families in mid and far-west Nepal resulting in immediate need of assistance. Dhanusa was one of the districts that was mostly affected by flood in comparison to the other districts viz. Banke, Bardiya,Mahottari, Siraha and Sarlahi.
In the year 2017, Prayas Nepal, with the financial support of KAEFER, distributed 32 pieces of zinc roof and filter for 32 households in Bardiya. Moreover, water buckets and edibles were also distributed to 400 households in Nawalparasi, Pratapur, and Gaupalika.
